HOW IT ALL STARTED … My name is Sante Fiorio, the Owner and Inventor of the TRI-BOX® food carriers, U.S. Patent No. 10,233,001 B2 and No. 11,046,493 .
MARCH 2016, I WALKED INTO A PIZZERIA and asked the owner to quote on slice pizza boxes. The owner approached me and said, “I want something for customers to carry out their orders that is better than a bag. Something that will keep the food from leaking out the side and will prevent the cheese from shifting to one side. We receive many customer complaints. People would order more pizza slices if they had an easier way to carry them. Can you make me something better than a bag?" Another owner was listening to our conversation and came forward to say, "the food doesn't leave my oven or kitchen that way! The food is very appealing. If you can make something to protect the food that would be good.”
I applied hours of sketches, concepts and design attempts, twisting and cutting corrugated material. I combined ways to use corrugated board with unique production techniques. I discovered a cost efficient way to produce the carriers. Immediately I finished the design, and applied for a patent with what has proven to be an innovative revolutionary food carrier providing the ultimate customer convenience. The production drawings were made for triangle slice and square pizza cartons plus round and rectangle food containers. Working with my attorneys Andrew D. Brazil of McKenna Storer, Chicago IL, and Stephen T. Scherrer, Scherrer Patent & Trademark Law, Crystal Lake, IL. we proceeded to file the Patent on the Tri-Box food carrier. The patent's original application was filed in March 2016 and in MARCH 2019, US Patent No. 10,233,001 B2 was issued for the TRI-BOX® Food Carriers.
